Butter Flavoring Makers Denied Summary Judgment In Suit Filed By Popcorn Consumer

SIOUX CITY, Iowa - Three artificial-flavoring manufacturers accused of exposing a consumer diagnosed with bronchiolitis obliterans to diacetyl in microwave popcorn were denied summary judgment on March 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa; the trial is scheduled to begin April 1 (Deborah Daughetee, et vir v. Chr. Hansen Inc., et al., No. 09-4100, N.D. Iowa; 2013 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 31042).
