Decline in serum uric acid predicts higher risk for mortality in peritoneal dialysis patients-a propensity score analysis.

CONCLUSIONS: The decline in SUA in the follow-up may predict the all-cause mortality of PD patients, the reason of which may result from reducing scavenging effects of SUA or may reflect general condition. More studies need to be done.
