Cannabis as a Substitute for Opioids

To the Editor In their critique of the availability of medical marijuana for patients suffering from chronic pain or struggling with opioid use disorder, Drs Humphreys and Saitz omitted important facts about the New York State Medical Marijuana Program, the limited availability of medication for addiction treatment (also known as medication-assisted treatment), and why clinical research on marijuana is so sparse.
