Help! Second degree 5 year course possible? Financial plan, your advice needed.

Hi everyone, So I was hoping that someone on here may have applied for medicine starting in 2012 and is able to say if they think funding the second degree 5 year course is possible. My burning question at the moment is what the SLA is giving second degree students in terms of maintenance loans - I'm aware that I'm not eligible for tuition fee loan and maintenance grants. All the information on the maintenance loan that I MAY be entitled to is so bloody vague. Is there a capped amount because I've already done a degree does anyone know? As I am definitely classed as an independent student, I'm 25 and have been working for myself for over 3 years now, theoretically I will be entitled to the most amount of loan as my household income will be £0 when I'm studying. Does anyone know if this is correct? I would also like to know if people think funding the 5 year course is possible for grads. I applied for 2013 entry and only got interviews for 5 years courses, I think my GAMSAT mark wasn't competitive enough for SGUL and notts, so I am SERIOUSLY considering taking on the financial burden of a 5 year degree and wanted some advice from anyone who wants to bestow it upon me! FIVE YEAR PLAN So total cost for 5 year degree tuition fees alone is £36k. I've saved up £15k of my hard earned cash so far.
