354 Capturing epithelial-immune interactions to maintain tissue homeostasis

Skin protects our body against the outer environment, and its ability to repair upon injury is directly connected to both disease and survival. Despite recent advances in our understanding of skin homeostasis, it is still unclear how diverse cell types interact with each other to sustain this process. The critical barrier to addressing these fundamental questions lies in the inability to simultaneously follow behaviors of different cell types and to define their functional interactions in a live mammal.
