Statement on the Meeting of the International Health Regulations (2005) Emergency Committee for Ebola Virus Disease in the Democratic Republic of the Congo on 12th April 2019

This statement is from a meeting held to provide the World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General with the committee's views and perspectives on Ebola virus disease in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, whether the event constitutes a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC), and if the event constitutes a PHEIC, what temporary recommendations should be made. The Director-General accepted the committee ’s assessment and on April 12, 2019, did not declare the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo a Public Health Emergency of International Concern.
