Modeling the DQE(f) of photon-counting detectors: impact of the pixel sensitivity profile.

Conclusion: The phenomenon of the pixel sensitivity profile, i.e. the fact that the choice of the threshold is affecting the detector sharpness, may play a substantial role in exploiting the full potential of photon counting detectors. The model compares well with measurements: with only two model parameters, the model can predict the MTF(f) and the DQE(f) for a wide range of thresholds.&#13.
