New Mexico: U.S. Government Liable For Groundwater Contamination

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The state of New Mexico on March 5 sued the U.S. Air Force in New Mexico federal court, contending that it disposed of hazardous waste from one of its bases and contaminated groundwater sources with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) (New Mexico, ex rel. Hector Balderas, et al. v. The United States, et al., No. 19-178, D. N.M.).
