Adverse Events Associated With Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors

To the Editor Dr Johnson and colleagues summarized the adverse events associated with immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy used to manage advanced cancers, which predominantly respond to treatment with glucocorticoids. However, we want to emphasize an irreversible adverse effect, autoimmune diabetes, which can present with life-threatening diabetic ketoacidosis and permanent insulin deficiency.
