Resorbable Synthetic Meshes for Abdominal Wall Defects in Preclinical Setting: A Literature Review

The objective of this review is to give an overview of the physicochemical characteristics and biomechanical, histological, and macroscopic outcome (recurrence, adhesion formation) of the use of resorbable synthetic meshes, for treatment and prevention of abdominal wall hernias, based on experimental studies.
