Climate Change and Health in Small Island Developing States (SIDS): Regional Plan of Action for SIDS in the African and South East Asian Regions

Source: World Health Organization, Regional Office for Africa. Published: 3/2019. This 14-page action plan, published with the World Health Organization Regional Office for South-East Asia, was developed during the Third Global Conference on Health and Climate Change, which was organized in March 2018 as a regionally dispersed conference with a focus on small island developing states (SIDS). It aims to help SIDS health authorities better understand and address the effects of climate change on health, including those mediated via climate change impacts on the main determinants of health (e.g., food, air, water and sanitation, vectors); and improve the climate resilience and environmental sustainability of health services.
