Letter to the Editor —ECG imaging and activation mapping
Electrocardiographic imaging (ECGi) is a general approach to noninvasive reconstruction of epicardial potentials, from which activation-time and repolarization maps can be constructed. Duchateau et al1 compared noninvasive and invasive activation mapping, as conducted in their laboratory, using commercial systems. It is not a general evaluation of ECGi. The accuracy of ECGi depends strongly on the exact methodology used and the details of execution. Our laboratory experimental ECGi system us es an armamentarium of custom methods/algorithms.
