Editorial: Is Less Parent Training “Not Inferior” to More?

Persistent and early onset externalizing behavior problems are associated with a wide range of impairments.1 Parent management training (PMT) is frequently recommended as either a prevention strategy in at-risk children, or as first line treatment. Although several group and individually based models of PMT have demonstrated efficacy in reducing preschool behavior problems, there is a paucity of comparative effectiveness studies to help guide treatment selection.
