Correlation between vasomotor symptoms, sleep disturbances and sexual function amongst a sample of Greek women aged 50 to 60 years old

Introduction: Hot flushes (HFs) are amongst the most frequent and disturbing results of menopause. Despite the fact that HFs are usually manifested during late perimenopause and early postmenopause, between 60% and 80% of women will complain of HFs ever since the transition phase (Gold E et al., 2006); Nevertheless, 55% of women may complain of HFs before menstruation anomalies occur (Reed SD, 2014) and they may last even up to the 6th or even the 7th decade of a woman's life. (Freeman EW, 2001; Barnabei 2002, 2005).
