Prevalence of Physician-Reported Food Allergy in Canadian Primary Care Practices

To date, prevalence data for food allergy (FA) in Canada is limited to self-report, with a previous survey documenting self-reported FA prevalence of 8.3%. Our study is the first in Canada aiming to determine the prevalence of physician-reported FA using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) data from providers participating in the Manitoba Primary Care Research Network (MaPCReN). We expect a lower prevalence of FA compared to self-reported rates.
