168. Exploring Clinical Linkages Created By Sexual Health Education Programs For Adolescents In California: A Qualitative Study

California ’s adolescent birth rate declined by 74% from 1991 to 2015 due, in part, to various statewide programs and policies.(1) The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is committed to reducing unintended pregnancies by requiring that any sexual health education programs it funds provide adolesce nts with information about clinical services.(2) In addition, the 2016 Healthy Youth Act mandates that all students in grades 7–12 in California public schools receive “information about local resources and student rights to accessing sexual and reproductive health care.”(2) To date, there is limited research on the implementation or outcomes of these clinical linkage efforts.
