ACEs and adolescent obesity
There has been increasing interest in and concern about adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and subsequent health effects. ACEs include such things as child physical abuse, sexual abuse, psychological abuse, familial substance abuse, and domestic violence. Questions have arisen regarding whether such adverse experiences could have an impact on weight status (underweight or overweight and obesity) later in life.
