Undercover investigation: Socio-economic survey of pangolin hunting in Assam, India

(Pensoft Publishers) Referred to as the world's most trafficked mammal, pangolins are not only being gradually pushed to the edge of extinction, but also made an innocent victim to huge cruelty. Having conducted a 2-year socio-economic survey of pangolin poaching in Northeast India, a research team aims to quantify and understand the drivers of the practice in the previously unstudied region in order to recommend adequate measures. Their paper is published in the open-access journal Nature Conservation.
