Correlation between uterine artery Doppler and the sFlt-1/PlGF ratio in different phenotypes of placental dysfunction.
CONCLUSION: In PDD, the sFlt-1/PlGF ratio and UtA Doppler indexes increase proportionally. Correlations between the sFlt-1/PlGF ratio and UtA Doppler indexes might help to distinguish between PDDs with and without impaired placentation. However, further studies are needed to explore the correlations in different phenotypes of PDD. PMID: 30485134 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
ConclusionsThis is the first randomised investigation of BP self-monitoring for the management of pregnancy hypertension and indicates that a large RCT would be feasible.

Cavalli, Marcelo R. LuizonAbstractNAMPT is a biomarker for endothelial dysfunction, but its relationship with nitrite (marker of NO formation) and soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase-1 (sFLT-1) has not been previously evaluated in preeclampsia. Therefore, we measured plasma NAMPT and sFLT-1 levels using enzyme immunoassays and plasma nitrite concentrations using an ozone-based chemiluminescence assay. NAMPT was positively correlated t...
ConclusionsOur results support a slight but significant association between gestational hypertension or preeclampsia and decreased likelihood of male delivery.
ConclusionsVVV during pregnancy, especially SBP-CV, was independently associated with GH and PE. These results suggested that VVV could provide additional information to identify pregnant women at high risk of GH or PE. Further studies exploring prospective association between VVV, GH and PE are warranted.
The hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP), comprised of preeclampsia (PE) and gestational hypertension (GHTN), are independent risk factors for future maternal cardiovascular disease (CVD). Epidemiologic evidence has demonstrated that women with HDP have abnormal cardiovascular (CV) risk factors in the early postpartum period, but this has not been fully characterized.
Conclusion Despite the small change in aspirin prophylaxis, using ACC/AHA definition of hypertension still results in an annual cost-saving of $9.4 million in the United States when compared with JNC7.
