Regional nerve blocks in everyday pediatric urology: 2. Ultrasound-guided regional anesthetic caudal block
This CEVL contribution is the second of a two-part series on implementing the practice of performing regional anesthesia blocks similarly by both pediatric urologists and anesthesiologists. Traditional work flow for pediatric urological surgery may involve provision of regional nerve blockade to supplement general anesthesia. The most common blocks used include groin and caudal blocks. Historically, these blocks have been performed ‘blindly’ by only the practitioner's instincts and palpation of landmarks.
