Management of Limb Thrombosis After Endovascular Aneurysm Repair: An Endovascular Solution for an Endovascular Problem

A 77 year old man suffered acute right lower limb ischaemia 7 weeks post-EVAR due to thrombosis of a kinked right iliac limb of an Ovation endoprosthesis (Endologix, Irvine, CA, USA). Under general anaesthesia, the kink was traversed with a 0.018 ″ Glidewire Advantage (Terumo Corporation, Prescot, UK) followed by mechanical thrombectomy using a 10 Fr Rotarex®S catheter (Straub Medical AG, Wangs, Switzerland) and straightening using a 14 × 90 mm Wallstent (Boston Scientific, Hemel Hempstead, UK). He was discharged on dual antiplatelet therapy (post-operative day 7) after percutaneous coronary intervention for an intra-operative myocardial infarction.
