Agnes Purcell McGavin Award for Distinguished Career Achievement in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Deadline: August 1 The Agnes Purcell McGavin Award for Distinguished Career Achievement, established in 2000, is presented to a child and adolescent psychiatrist who has been noted for outstanding contributions to the advancement of child and adolescent psychiatry in activities such as teaching, research, writing, clinical care, advocacy and policy. A plaque and a $1,500 prize is presented to the recipient at the Convocation of Fellows ceremony during the American Psychiatric Association’s Annual Meeting in May. Who is Eligible: • A child/adolescent psychiatrist • Previous winners of the McGavin Award for Prevention are eligible • A member of the McGavin Award Selection Committee is ineligible for the award for five years beginning with his/her first year on the committee Submission Requirements: • Only an APA member may nominate individuals • Letter detailing the nominee’s accomplishments and qualifications • Nominee’s CV All nominations must be submitted electronically at kids@psych.org Award Notification: December Staff Contact: Alison Bondurant at kids@psych.org or 703-907-8639
