Group: DuPont, Subsidiary Liable For Tainted Groundwater In North Carolina

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - An environmental group on Aug. 29 sued Chemours Co. FC LLC, a subsidiary of E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Co., in North Carolina federal court, contending that the company is liable for groundwater contamination as a result of releasing "hundreds of thousands of pounds" of toxic perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), including GenX, into the Cape Fear River (Cape Fear River Watch v. Chemours Company FC LLC, No. N/A, E.D. N.C.).
