Maternal BMI and gestational diabetes mellitus: Impacts on the maternal and cord blood metabolome
This study aims to identify the impact of maternal prepregnancy BMI (pBMI) and GDM on the metabolic profiles in both maternal and cord blood. We assume that the maternal status (obesity or GDM) negatively impacts the metabolic status of the mother consequently affecting the intrauterine milieu with potential unfavored neonatal outcomes.
