Development and validation of a multiplex reverse transcript real-time PCR for E6/E7 mRNA detection of high-risk human papillomavirus.

CONCLUSION: The one-step multiplex RT-PCR for E6/E7 mRNA detection is a simple, fast, universally applicable, sensitive and highly specific method for hrHPV E6/E7 mRNA detection. It is reliable for cervical lesion screening and of potential value in future clinical applications. PMID: 30124401 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

CONCLUSIONS: There is moderate-certainty evidence to support the use of invitation letters to increase the uptake of cervical screening. Low-certainty evidence showed lay health worker involvement amongst ethnic minority populations may increase screening coverage, and there was also support for educational interventions, but it is unclear what format is most effective. The majority of the studies were from developed countries and so the relevance of low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), is unclear. Overall, the low-certainty evidence that was identified makes it difficult to infer as to which interventions were best, ...

Condyloma acuminata patients are usually coinfected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), particularly those with low CD4+ levels. Chemical cautery and cryosurgery are therapeutic modalities for CA, aiming to remove lesions and prevent recurrence, especially in patients with HIV.OBJECTIVE: To compare the efficacy of chemical cautery to cryosurgery on CD4+ status of HIV patients with CA.METHODS...

Conclusion: Results from this study suggest that dental hygiene education programs should include didactic instruction on HPV, the use of BMI strategies, as well as multiple opportunities to practice HPV related conversations to improve student knowledge, attitudes, comfort, and confidence levels. Interactive continuing education programs with a focus on HPV and BMI techniques can also assist oral health care providers in the delivery of provider-patient communication on HPV.PMID:34654715

Conclusions: The findings underscore that the majority of the MUW are overdue for cervical cancer screening, regularly use social media, and are willing to participate in social media-driven intervention. Social media could be used to promote HPV self-testing among MUW.

She initially presented 9 years previously with recurrent episodes of pneumonia and sinusitis. Genetic testing revealed a heterozygous GATA2 mutation (c.988C>T). She has since had multiple infections that have included necrotizing fasciitis of the right thumb, recurrent pilonidal infections (which required 23 procedures), esophageal candidiasis, and human papillomavirus-positive high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion of the cervi...
