Local Hepatitis A Outbreak - Awareness and Need for Vaccination Among HIV-Infected Patients Treated in HIV Out-Patient's Clinic in Warsaw, Poland

Background: Several EU countries reported large increases in hepatitis A cases in 2017 compared to previous years. From January to May 110 cases were reported in Poland, mainly in MSM population, what is 10 times more than in the corresponding periods of 2014 – 2016. HIV-positive patients have low adherence to recommended HAV vaccination. Due to local epidemic situation Hepatitis A vaccine is available against payment (40$) in HIV Clinic in Warsaw from May 2017.
