Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) versus flexible ureteroscopy (F-URS) for management of renal stone burden less than 2 cm in children: A randomized comparative study

ConclusionStone free rate after one session of F-URS is higher than ESWL with comparable rates of complications. F-URS could be offered to children who are less likely to respond completely after ESWL monotherapy.

Conclusion: This study has a total complication rate of 16%, approximately 10% of those are severe. The most common complication to PCNL was infection (60%), followed by bleeding (5.4%), reoperation (1.6%) and pain (0.5%). The high prevalence of E. faecalis might need to be considered, however the results should be validated in a larger cohort, possibly with a higher rate of antibiotic resistance, before a change of guidelines regarding prophylactic antibiotics could be proposed. Abstract Astragalus polysaccharide (APS) was modified using the Na2SeO3/HNO3 method to obtain selenized APS (Se-APS) with a selenium content of 1.75 mg/g. The structure and physicochemical properties of APS and Se-APS were investigated through transmission electron microscopy-energy dispersive spectroscopy mapping, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, nano-zetasizer analysis, atomic force microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. APS and Se-APS did not exhibit toxic effects on human kidney proximal tubular epithelial (HK-2) cells and were able to remove hydroxyl and DPPH ra...

ConclusionThe immune microenvironment is an important factor influencing the relapse of PC. The intratumoural density of CD3+, CD8+, CD45+, and CD163+ immunocytes was correlated with disease-free survival (DFS) in patients with PC. Immunotherapy based on T lymphocytes or tumour-associated macrophages may be a promising treatment strategy.
