Development of specific tests in bike-trials riders and relationship with jumping ability

ConclusionThe field tests as well as the bike specific tests showed to be selective and discriminant for the biketrial rider's.

ConclusionUsing spirulina platensis alone does not have an effect on the signaling pathway in the heart. However, the combination of resistance training can affect some of the components of the signaling pathway (PI3K/mTOR). And also, the effect of resistance training alone can have a significant effect on all components of the signaling pathway.RésuméContexteL’entraînement en résistance et la spiruline modifient l’expression des gènes impliqués dans l’hypertrophie. Nous avons étudié l’effet de l’entraînement en résistance ave...

ConclusionsWhen considering reduction of enamel microcrack formation and clinical acceptable shear bond strength, none of the groups succeeded both. Etching by Er:YAG (60 mJ) and Er,Cr:YSGG (1.5 W/15 Hz), showed the least overall microcrack incidence between groups, but Er:YAG (60 mJ) displayed significant reduction compared to phosphoric acid. However, etching by Er:YAG (80 mJ) had the most predictable results in term of shear bond strength.RésuméDonnées contextuellesL’incidence de craquelure amélaire est élevée après la dépose mé...

CONCLUSIONS: These findings suggest that smoking initiation and lifetime smoking are likely to be a causal risk factor for developing bipolar disorder. We found some evidence that liability to bipolar disorder increased smoking heaviness. Given that smoking is a modifiable risk factor, these findings further support investment into smoking prevention and treatment in order to reduce mental health problems in future generations. by Justin D. Rasmussen, Bernard Kakuhikire, Charles Baguma, Scholastic Ashaba, Christine E. Cooper-Vince, Jessica M. Perkins, David R. Bangsberg, Alexander C. Tsai BackgroundMental illness stigma is a fundamental barrier to improving mental health worldwide, but little is known about how to durably reduce it. Understanding of mental illness as a treatable medical condition may influence stigmatizing beliefs, but available evidence to inform this hypothesis has been derived solely from high-income countries. We embedded a randomized survey experiment within a whole-population cohort study in rural southwestern Uganda to ass...

So now, according to the Washington Post, the Trump Administration is “…considering a controversial proposal to study whether mass shootings could be prevented by monitoring mentally ill people for small changes that might foretell violence.”1 As a psychiatrist, I keep wondering how many times the White House will scapegoat those with psychiatric illnesses rather than looking at the scientific data on mass shooters. To understand the problem, consider the case of “Tyler” (a composite of many mass shooter profiles). Tyler is a 19-year-old, single, unemployed high school dropout. He was wo...
