Risks and benefits of local anesthesia versus general anesthesia in tonsillectomy
ConclusionsThe incidence of postoperative bleeding is not dependent on type of anesthesia. The results suggest that tonsillectomy performed under local anesthesia is a safe alternative to tonsillectomy under general anesthesia, with significant reduction of cost and duration of surgery.
