Jun 21, Arnold Gesell: Today in the History of Psychology (21st June 1880)

Arnold L. Gesell was born. A world renowned pioneer in the field of child development, Gesell founded The Clinic of Child Development at Yale in 1911 and served as director there until 1948. During this time Gesell conducted a series of groundbreaking and comprehensive research programs into the normative progression of infant development, culminating in the publication of a two-volume work titled 'An Atlas of Infant Behavior' in 1934.
