3C A Tale of Two Cities: Development and Implementation of a Pain Protocol

Pain management practices vary from clinician to clinician and institution to institution. Historically, pain management focuses on the individual patient and typically emphasizes that one uniform approach does not always work. However, the utilization of a standardized pain clinical pathway for a specific population, such as patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS), can improve the quality of care. A standardized pathway can provide consistency in care, improve the patient/family experience, and enhance outcomes.
