Efficacy of thoracic radiotherapy in patients with stage IIIB-IV epidermal growth factor receptor-mutant lung adenocarcinomas who received and responded to tyrosine kinase inhibitor treatment.

CONCLUSIONS: Thoracic RT might be associated with overall survival in patients with unresectable stage IIIB-IV EGFR-mutant lung adenocarcinomas who received and responded to EGFR TKI treatment. PMID: 29703499 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Conclusions: Crizotinib was effective and well tolerated in Chinese patients with ALK-positive, advanced NSCLC in real-world clinical practice. For patients without BBM, crizotinib as first-line therapy can lead to a longer PFS than second-or later line therapy. CBPD plus local therapy after 1st PD beyond crizotinib is feasible and effective in clinical routine practice.

ConclusionsThe relevance of SPARC expression in pancreato-biliary carcinomas though may still be important for therapeutic decision making, it is not responsible for peritumoral stromal desmoplasia in these tumors and it does not have any significant prognostic implication.

In this report, we explored data from human RNA-seq and protein–protein interaction (PPI) networks using bioinformatics to investigate the relationship between tumor entropy and aggressiveness. To compare PPI subnetworks of different sizes, we calculated the Shannon entropy associated with vertex connections of differentially expressed genes comparing tumor samples with their paired control tissues. We found that the inhibition of up-regulated connectivity hubs led to a higher reduction of subnetwork entropy compared to that obtained with the inhibition of targets selected at random. Furthermore, these hubs were desc...

ConclusionsFor accurate staging, at least 12 LNs should be retrieved. The three ‐tier N staging system is valid for clinical practice and has a more accurate prognostic predictability than the two‐tier system.

Conclusion: Smoking was found to be closely associated with SOL/MIP-predominance in lung adenocarcinoma. Greater smoking quantity was related to the presence of a SOL/MIP component. PMID: 31624712 [PubMed]

Contributors : Y Li ; F Huang ; S ZhangSeries Type : Expression profiling by high throughput sequencingOrganism : Homo sapiensGlucose metabolism makes contributions to the development of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Meanwhile, circular RNAs, a subset of noncoding RNAs, plays an important role in glucose metabolism and cancer progression. Analysis of low-glucose-treated and normal-glucose-treated MIA PaCa-2 cells from 6 samples (3 samples each group) was conducted. Results indicate insight into molecular signature of the pathogenesis of PDAC in abberant glucose metabolism.
