Ridesharing apps offer transportation on-demand in passenger vehicles driven by laypersons. In the case of routine, minor illness or injury, these apps can offer convenient transportation to an outpatient appointment. However, fully-equipped ambulances, staffed by trained Paramedics and EMTs, are the best choice to in the case of stroke, heart attack, trauma, and other serious emergencies, or to care for patients with special needs requiring medical management.
