Mp39-14 therapeutic effect of platelet-rich-plasma intravesical repeat injections for interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome refractory to conventional treatment

Interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS) is a disease of unknown etiology characterized by frequency and bladder pain. Although it has been known for more than 100 years, current treatments are usually unsuccessful in achieving long-term pain relief and symptom improvement. Autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is growing in popularity and widely used in different fields as a therapy to augment wound healing and to enhance the recovery after surgical repair. It is extremely rich in growth factors and cytokines, which regulate tissue reconstruction.
