Shear wave elastography in the diagnostics of parathyroid adenomas –new application of the method

Conclusions:SWE can be useful tool in the diagnostics of parathyroid adenomas. Enlarged parathyroids are significantly more elastic than benign thyroid lesions. Low elasticity of the lesion constitutes feature with high negative prognostic value, allowing for reliable exclusion of suspicion of parathyroid adenomas.
