Sleep and restless legs syndrome in adolescents with idiopathic musculoskeletal pain

Introduction: Idiopathic musculoskeletal pain (IMP) affects children and adolescents and has a negative impact on quality of life. Sleep problems and psychosocial aspects appear to be involved in the etiopathogenesis of IMP, though this association is not fully established. Restless legs syndrome (RLS), periodic limb movements (PLM), and various sleep problems have been reported in adults with chronic musculoskeletal pain. However, there are still no reports in children and adolescents with IMP.
