State Government R & D Expenditures Increase 3.1% in FY 2016

State government agency expenditures for research and development totaled $2.3 billion in FY 2016, an increase of 3.1% from FY 2015. Five state governments (California, New York, Texas, Florida, and Ohio) accounted for 64% of all state government R&D in FY 2016.
