Blood eosinophil (EOS) count, exacerbation rate and response to roflumilast in patients with severe COPD

Conclusions: In this post-hoc analysis, PBO-treated COPD pts with higher blood baseline EOS counts had more exacerbations. Pts with higher blood baseline EOS counts derived greater benefit from ROF in exacerbation risk reduction compared to PBO.Baseline EOS (cells/mm3)nExacerbation rate% changeP valueROFPBORate ratio (ROF vs PBO)(95% CI)Moderate or severe exacerbations< 150> 150208021461.041.001.081.240.96 (0.83, 1.11)0.81 (0.71, 0.93)-3.8%-19.1%0.60450.0020Severe exacerbations< 150> 150208021460.250.240.280.310.90 (0.70, 1.15)0.78 (0.61, 0.98)-10.4%-22.4%0.37990.0343
