Mini cancer tumours grown in first-of-kind pioneering research

(University of Birmingham) University of Birmingham begins five-year research program aimed at finding new treatments for bowel cancer. The first of its kind in the UK, it will see scientists taking samples of 200 patients' bowel cancer in order to then grow avatars -- or mini tumors -- in the laboratory.
