High School CPR training: It ’s only an APP away!!

Improving survival from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) has challenged EMS system for decades. Research into antiarrhythmic use, epinephrine administration and airway management have failed to yield the “silver bullet” that uniformly improves survival from OHCA [1–3]. One intervention that has stood the test of time is cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). With the advent of devices that monitor CPR quality, improvements in outcomes have been demonstrated through optimizing the individual comp onents of CPR such as chest compression rate, compression fraction, compression depth and peri-shock pause [4–8].
