Nearly 15  years ago, as an Adolescent Medicine fellow in a large pediatric academic institution, I was working furiously on conceptualizing my scholarly work—alone, at my computer. Then, I crossed paths serendipitously with a collaborator who changed my life and the trajectory of my academic career. She was a psychologist. Either way, it should not have surprised me that our combined skill sets would symbiotically lead us in important and novel research directions that would have been impossible alone.
