Recovery of Pulmonary Function after Allogeneic Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation in Children is Associated with Improved Survival

1. Normalization of lung function is possible in survivors of allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation.2. Patients who recovered lung function had similar overall survival to those who had normal lung function post-transplant.3. Pulmonary complications and pre-transplant forced vital capacity z-scores were associated with recovery of lung function.4. Strategies to decrease pulmonary complications may improve outcome.
