Radial head prosthesis: results overview

ConclusionsThe results of this study suggest that the use of prostheses, if well positioned, is a valid solution in the treatment of secondary arthritis and fractures of the radial head with poor prognosis, with good results in the reduction of pain, recovery of movement and improved quality of life.

In this study, we evaluate long-term implant survival and patient-reported outcomes after primary total hip arthroplasty (THA) in patients aged 35 or younger with post-traumatic arthritis of the hip. METHODS: We conducted a retrospective study with follow-up. A chart review was performed to identify young patients with post-traumatic arthritis of the hip treated with primary THA. Follow-up surveys were conducted to determine implant survival and patient-reported outcomes. Implant survival was assessed using Kaplan-Meier survival analysis, and patient outcomes were determined using the hip disability and osteoarthritis...

In this study we demonstrate the use of clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)-based epigenome editing to alter cell response to inflammatory environments by repressing inflammatory cytokine cell receptors, specifically TNFR1 and IL1R1. This has applications for many inflammatory-driven diseases. It could be applied for arthritis or to therapeutic cells that are being delivered to inflammatory environments that need to be protected from inflammation." In chronic back pain, for example, slipped or herniated discs are a result of damaged tissue when inflammation causes cells to create ...

Now that Arkansas is the latest state to have a medical marijuana law on the books, Arkansas employers must be prepared to address this issue. Although the amendment to the Arkansas Constitution is effective immediately, it should take some time for most Arkansas residents to take advantage of the approved use of medical ...

The election is over, and Arkansas is now the latest of many states to have a medical marijuana law on the books.  Although the new amendment to the Arkansas Constitution is effective immediately, it should take some time for the approved use of medical marijuana to begin. At the very least, someone has to design and print the required "Registry Identification Cards" for users — unless one of your employees shows up with a registry identification card from another state and claims to be a "visiting qualifying patient."   So, what does the new law do? It allows (among other things) "...
