Dose-Ranging Effect of Systemic Diphenhydramine on Postoperative Quality of Recovery After Ambulatory Laparoscopic Surgery: A Randomized, Placebo-Controlled, Double-blinded, Clinical Trial

(Abstracted from J Clin Anesth, 34:46–52, 2016) This prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial was designed to evaluate the dose-ranging effects of diphenhydramine on postoperative quality of recovery (QoR) when used with ondansetron after outpatient laparoscopic gynecologic surgery. The QoR-40 questionnaire (QoR-40) was utilized by a blinded investigator to evaluate patients 24 hours after surgery.
