Information Roles in Disaster Management

National Library of Medicine. 10/2016 This course from the National Library of Medicine Disaster Information Management Research Center presents research findings on librarians ' roles supporting the disaster workforce. The information needs of first responders, emergency managers, and others working in the areas of disaster preparedness, response, and recovery are discussed to provide a framework for the kinds of roles that librarians, information specialists, and others can fill. Basic vocabulary and concepts of disaster management are also reviewed. (Text)
