Army Reverses Decision, Will Pay Soldier ’ s Medical Bills After Heart Attack

BOSTON (CBS) – The Army will now pay the medical bills of an Army reservist who suffered a heart attack during a required physical fitness test. The military initially withheld payments from Capt. Shane Morgan, saying the heart attack did not happen during active duty. Shane’s wife Jaime confirmed the Army reversed its decision. “This past year has been as difficult, as challenging as my deployment to Afghanistan,” Shane Morgan said in an interview with WBZ-TV last month. After feeling sick during the fitness test last November, doctors told Morgan one artery was completely blocked. However, the Army cited an earlier blood test for withholding payments.
