UNC-supported research claims breakthrough in pain medication
An international team that includes researchers from UNC-Chapel Hill says they have developed a new pain killing drug candidate that doesn ’t trigger side effects prevalent with current opioids.
The work is still in its early stages, but the researchers say they potentially found a drug that patients won’t become addicted to and blocks pain.
