Revascularisation and the acute charcot joint
Background: Charcot neuropathy is a progressive condition affecting the soft tissues, bones and joints most commonly within the foot and ankle. It is a rare complication of the neuropathic foot of which diabetes is the leading cause [1]. Other associated conditions include alcoholic neuropathy, polio, leprosy and syphilis.
