Urétrocystoscopie ambulatoire au service d’Urologie/Andrologie de l’Hôpital Général Grand Yoff de Dakar

Conclusion L’urétroystoscopie est un examen important surtout en pathologie tumorale. L’hématurie en était la principale indication mettant en évidence surtout les tumeurs de vessie et l’hypertrophie prostatique mais aussi les pathologies inflammatoires de la vessie. Background/Aim To describe the characteristics of patients undergoing urethrocystoscopy, the indications and results of the examination and the additional procedures performed. Patients et methods We descriptively and retrospectively studied patients undergoing outpatient urethrocystoscopy at the department of Urology/Andrology of Hôpital Général Grand Yoff of Dakar. Data on demographic characteristics, indications, results and additionnal procedures were collected and analyzed in Epi Info 7 version 3.5.3. Descriptive statistics were computed. Results Of 655 patients who underwent urethrocystoscopy, 403 were male and 252 were female (sex ratio:1.6). Mean age was 47.44 years and 27.94% of patients were in the [40-60 years] range. The commonest indications were hematuria (31.49%), lower urinary tract symptoms (26.44%). The commonest results were bladder tumour (18.2%), prostatic tumor (12.4%), cystopathy (8.2%) and shcistosomiasis lesions (8.1%). In 26.45% of patients with hematuria, a bladder tumor was found.
