Dr. Monticciolo: Actually, screening less will make "cancers" go away-the overdiagnosed ones. 35% of screen-detected cancers are DCIS in younger women, see the tables in AIM. What do you mean that the USPSTF is not evidence based? Because they forgot to cite the recent flawed Dutch study that ignores lead and length biases? The whole USPSTF process is evidence based. Cherry picking is bad practice for radiologists-and bad for science.

Just do not use the term false positive. We just say that we cannot call the screen normal, recall for workup. Hardly a positive anything
